Lisette Model, Street Photographer, New York Noir


Lisette Model was an influencial photographer who changed how we view New York. Starting out with an acclaimed series of portraits done in Nice, France in the 1930s, she came to New York and worked with the great art director, Alexey Brotovitch of Harper's Bazaar. Her work in New York throughout the forties, fifties, and sixties. As a teacher at Parsons, she would be a primary influence on her favorite student - Diane Arbus.
